Chemurgy is the chemical and industrial use of organic raw plant materials. 

YES, we believe that hemp has the most potential to help us reach our goals:  

Products made from hemp provide healthier living environments in addition to being biodegradable.  In other words, healthy homes!  Hemp insulation is fire- and mold-proof.  Hempcrete is carbon-neutral and eliminates construction waste.  Above ground level, Hemp products can last hundreds of years, but when buried in the ground, decompose in a matter of months into earth-friendly byproducts.  Hemp fabrics last forever.

Hemp is Chemurgy.

Often referred to as the "father of chemurgy," George Washington Carver was an African American agricultural scientist and inventor.  Born into slavery in mid-19th century Missouri, Carver became a foremost American scientist.

Often referred to as the "father of chemurgy," George Washington Carver was an African American agricultural scientist and inventor.  Born into slavery in mid-19th century Missouri, Carver became a foremost American scientist.

Carver saw the potential for agricultural products to replace petroleum-based materials in industry, which would reduce dependence on fossil fuels. 

Regenerative farming helps replace commercial fertilizers that harm the soil. Carver’s work in chemurgy helped promote sustainable agriculture and the use of renewable resources.  He believed that farmers could benefit from diversifying their crops and finding new uses for their products.
